Trimmings - Pom-poms
1. Cut out two cardboard rings about the diameter you wish the pom-pom to be. Mark and cut out a smaller circle at the centre of each piece of card to thread the wool through (Fig.5).

2. Hold the two pieces of card together and wind the yarn round and round the ring until the card is covered. Save time by winding several strands at the same time (Fig.6).

3. With a pair of sharp scissors cut between the two pieces of card through all the yarn round the outside edge until the circle is separated (Fig.7).

4. Before taking the pieces of card away, thread a piece of yarn between the two rings and tie it into a tight knot to secure the centre of the pom-pom. Leave enough yarn to attach the pom-pom where required (Fig.8).

5. Pull the two pieces of card away, fluff out the ball and trim the ends until you have the shape and size you want.
